Hi, I’m Kate Horswill - founder of Palette Peach Blossom.

I’m a Melbourne-based marketing professional with over 10 years experience in marketing, and 2 years experience supporting a Melbourne-based artist in business and in studio.

My mission is to be a strategic partner for artists, helping build your business and career around your art.

My story.

My journey.

My story. My journey.

New Zealand

Born in New Zealand, I attained a Bachelor of Business in 2013 at Victoria University of Wellington, majoring in Marketing, Management and International Business.

After graduating, I was eager to start exploring the world and making my mark. I first relocated to Darwin, then Melbourne, Australia.

Melbourne

Street view of a building with colorful street art murals, including various cartoon-like human and animal faces. There are two bicycles parked on the sidewalk, a motorcycle, and a metal trash bin. The murals are painted in yellow, black, red, and white, with some text written in black, including "ST. ALI 15 YEARS YOUNG" and "TOM GERRARD DISCREET." The street is wet, and a utility pole with wires is visible in the foreground.

In 2014, I found art and was particularly wowed by Melbourne’s street art. My coffee and cafe obsession began, along with rooftop bars, galleries and bookstores. I loved exploring Melbourne’s colourful suburb ecosystem, and despised hook turns.

I also discovered the world of paid media advertising. Over three years I worked with a range of clients that helped me understand key marketing channels and strategies.

Singapore

In 2018 I moved to Singapore, where I landed a role in marketing for a high end tech brand.

With Singapore as a work base, there was plenty of opportunity to explore South East Asia. The vibrant and differing cultures, food, art and landscapes were both exciting and eye-opening.

Melbourne 2.0

A street view showing a building with a sign advertising a cafe or bar that offers food, coffee, and cocktails. The building has large windows, brickwork, and decorative architectural details. There are also handwritten signs and a tree lining the sidewalk.

In 2019, it was time to come back to Melbourne, where I continued working in paid media advertising. A lot happened in the next few years - I got married, went into lockdown, rescued a cat and started living in St Kilda.

Cook Islands

During a visit to family in the Cook Islands in 2023, I attended a painting class with my mum. I learned so much and was so proud of my piece. My passion for art really grew from here.

I still paint today, mostly of plants and recently more abstract patterns.

Melbourne 3.0

In 2024 I landed a marketing role at Arts Centre Melbourne. I learned so much about the performing arts and arts industry.

An artist and family member asked me to support their small business, Paper Cloth Studio. Through this I was introduced to more art and artists, and felt myself drawn to a new path. I knew then, I wanted to work more closely with artists, learn about their stories and help where I could.

Palette Peach Blossom

In 2026 I landed on my mission - helping visual artists at any stage of their career, grow and thrive. To be a strategic partner for artists, helping build businesses and careers around art.

A Palette is an artist’s tool to create art. It symbolises the process of creating art, and for me, the process of launching and growing a business. You mix colours on a palette. Together, we mix art, business and marketing.

A Peach Blossom symbolises fresh beginnings, prosperity and longevity. The peach has been depicted in artwork for centuries, often representing the heart and sincere speech. The peach colour is also highly connected to the Sacral Chakra, which governs emotional expression and creativity - elements that are essential for artists.

For me, “Blossom” also represents the beautiful bloom to come with artists’ careers. It’s about potential and growth over time.
